At the invitation of Studio Römer in New York, the artists BlokLugthart designed the water sculpture Show me your world for the central park in Masdar city Abu Dhabi. Masdar city is designed with the ambition of a sustainable urban development.
A large sculpture of a polar bear made of low polygon surfaces of stainless steel is designed for the central park of Masdar city. A small child sitting on one of its front legs is showing the big polar bear his new hometown. The large sculpture stands in a circular water square in the middle of the park, surrounded by small mist fountains as are often seen in warm countries to keep the air cool. Coming from the arctic world and symbolizing renewable energy, the big polar bear looks around curiously as a surrealistic visitor in this modern sustainable city in the warm desert.
