The public art sculptures Resting Points XXL in Diemen consists of three large works of art on the new pedestrian promenade along the Weespertrekvaart canal, which runs through Diemen. Along the leafy boulevard there will be seating areas that are highlighted by large sculptures of resting human figures overlooking the water.
Sitting on either the knee or shoulder of the three human sculptures is a duckling, which is also featured on Diemen’s coat of arms. Cast in stainless steel, these little mascots of the city also look out over the water. The large human figures invite passers-by to briefly interrupt their walk and enjoy the view over the water.
The large dimensions of the human sculptures make the encounter between the walker and artwork a special moment to rest at this beautiful spot along the canal. For the passing traffic, the horizontal sculptures form a striking marker of this picturesque connecting route through Diemen.
